Our Purpose

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.—John 3:16

We gather in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and own no other name, choosing to be known simply as Christians, “that in all things He may have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18) We do not desire to separate ourselves from other believers, but only from that which is contrary to the will and word of God.

As believers in Christ, we seek to follow the pattern of the first Christians who “continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayer.” (Acts 2:42) Not only do we meet to study the Scriptures, spend time in fellowship and prayer, but also, each first day of the week, we break bread according to the command of our Lord (Luke 22:19) and the example of the early disciples (Acts 20:7). We welcome to the Lord's Supper all who are truly born again (John 3:16), clean in life (1 Corinthians 5:11) and sound in doctrine (Romans 16:17-18).

We seek to teach “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27) and to present with clarity “the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 1:1-3) “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.” (1 Peter 3:18) It is this good news alone that is “the power of God to salvation to everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16) All who admit their helpless condition as condemned sinners before a holy God and place their trust in the sinless Son of God—who shed His blood on the cross for their sins, was buried, and rose from the dead—will be forgiven by God, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, and given the gift of eternal life. (Romans 3:20-28) It is our desire that this good news about the incomparable Person and all-sufficient work of Jesus Christ be proclaimed to all the nations of the world.
